It’s the electrically charged components that attract the dust in side of your computer. What happens when you leave the dust unattended in side your computer? It will build up on the computer components, and especially the computer processor heat sink. When the dust builds up on the computer components, they can no longer breathe or circulate the much needed cooler air that allows computer components to cool down. If your computer components can not cool down they will simply break down.

You should try and get the most you can out of your computer. You can increase your chances of achieving that goal with a simple cleaning. I recommend a good cleaning at least once a month. This would also depend on your environment. The reason why I recommend cleaning the inside of the computer once a month is that it makes the cleaning job easier by decreasing the dust build up inside the computer.

Despite the best of intentions, most of us don’t use good information management practices - simple filing systems which enable us to keep track of our projects and resources. The mountain of paperwork piles up on top of us like an avalanche, and beyond that, there are PC files, emails and SMS to manage. Not many organisations have standard practices for information management and organising, sorting and systemising information is not something most of us have ever been taught how to do - so it’s hardly surprising that we struggle to find order among the chaos. Far from being a nuisance administrative task, effective information management is essential to your efficiency and productivity. Introducing simple systems and investing just 15 minutes per week can put you in control of your information and help you to become more efficient and productive.

Managing paperwork

Keeping it together. Create a central storage point for everything that requires filing - a box or a folder labeled ‘filing’ - and throw everything into it during the week.

Make time. Allocate 15 minutes each week for filing. Depending on the state you are in at the beginning, you may need to allocate more time than this to get on top of the task - but from then on, 15 minutes per week should be a small enough time slot to find, but long enough to keep you on top of your paperwork.

Set up systems. When using filing cabinets, decide how you will allocate your space to make it easiest to locate your files: for example, rather than mixing all your files together you might decide to keep current customer files in one drawer and potential customer files and marketing information in a separate drawer, or you might choose to store current projects in one drawer and research and reference information in another, or you might decide to file everything in alphabetical order - you get the idea - look at the type of files you have and decide how to logically divide them into categories. Then, label the front of each drawer with the type of files it contains.

Colour it. Use colour coding to further systemise your files and to enable you to identify different types of files at a glance. Choose a range of coloured manila folders and allocate a different colour to use for different file types: for example, blue for customer files, purple for staff files, pink for project files and so on. Make a reference list of what each colour represents until you are familiar with your system.

What colour is today? Now set up a different coloured folder for each day of the week. Use these to file tasks that require action on certain days. Check the contents of your day-file as part of your 10-minute preparation at the end of each day and prioritise the tasks. Make sure you keep your day-files up to date by immediately filing papers relating to your daily tasks in the appropriate day-file, rather than in your ‘filing’ folder where you may not see it again until your allocated filing time.

Managing email

Virtual files. Set up folders in your email to file important information you have read or actioned and want to keep for future reference. These folders might mirror your hard-copy files to make it easy for you to cross-reference printed and online information relating to a particular subject.

Online colour. Learn how to colour code your incoming email so you can identify at a glance which emails require your immediate attention. Again, your colour coding might mirror your hard copy filing system while adding new colour categories for emails from friends and family.

Email rules. Establish rules for incoming email to help you sort the legitimate messages from the Spam, jokes and junk. Your email software can help you, for example, to send Spam messages directly to your trash, or to send e-zines or newsletters you subscribe to directly to a reading folder.

Read and delete. Many people have a tendency to want to keep emails - set yourself some guidelines for what you want to keep and delete the rest once you have read or actioned them. And, don’t keep emails in your inbox - they’ll only make you feel like you have more work than you really do and increase the chances you’ll overlook something that needs your attention. Be disciplined: read, action then file or delete.

Spring clean. Schedule time to clean out your email regularly, once a month should be enough to keep you on top of it. Empty your deleted items and any unnecessary sent items, and go through any completed project or task folders and ensure that anything you are keeping is essential to your records. Leading by example. On the surface it seems like a simple concept. Just do the right thing and others will follow. Unfortunately, we don’t always know what the right thing is or even if we do, doing it is not so easy.

It is so easy in this world to be a follower. The point is, it is so easy to be a sheep, to do what the others do. It is safe, it is in most cases the most profitable, even while only in the short run, and it takes the least amount of courage. But I say, dare to be different from the sheep.

People of two opposing ideas can stir up arguments and fights. It’s that situation when one thinks he has the right concept while the other one also believes he has the proper notion. Both of them would try to outsmart each other until one claims victory.

Here’s an actual example.

My spouse would sometimes buy me signature clothing. When my Mom founds out how much it costs, she would advise us to budget our money and just buy the affordable ones.

A problem occurs when my spouse thinks that her effort to give me the best was unappreciated. Mom, on the other hand, would think that my spouse is such a spender.

There’s a conflict with their beliefs. No two people are exactly alike. We are totally unique; not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

There will be many times when your opinion will not correspond with that of another. So how can people prevent this kind of conflict from occurring?

Communication is the key to overcome doubts and misunderstandings.

You should let other people know what’s in your mind. Don’t keep them guessing.

There was a story about two couples who were filing a divorce. After the lawyer have spoken to them both, he found out that the root cause of all their problems was due to miscommunication.

Here’s one of the couple’s problems.

The man filing the divorce said that he just hated the breakfast meal that his wife often prepared for him. On the other hand, the wife said that she’s only preparing the meal because she thought it was her husband’s favorite. But she never liked cooking it because it’s very difficult to prepare.

See? If only one of them took the initiative to speak out what’s in his or her mind, then that particular dilemma would be over.

Now why would people prefer to keep their complaints and criticisms to themselves? What’s holding them back?

It’s because they do not want to be rejected. Most, people, if not all, would like to be accepted and to be perceived as likeable in the eyes of others.

So can you get your message across without hurting their feelings?

Substitute negative statements with positive ones.

Instead of saying “You don’t understand,” say “Let me explain.” Instead of remarking “You’re wrong,” say “Permit me to clarify.” Instead of stating “You failed to say,” just mention “Perhaps this was not stated.”

There are certain words that affect a person more negatively in comparison with other words that have the same meaning.

Nothing could be more pleasing to the ear than hearing someone else say that you are right. In this case, be prepared to let other people know that you respect their opinions. You may add your comments at the end, but acknowledge them first.

Say:

You’re right, although … Great suggestion, however … I agree with your opinion, however … I would feel the same way if I were you, although … I understand your situation, however …

Reassure your counterparts that the decision made will benefit both parties. People need to feel that they have made the right choice.

Communication is a gift. Use it wisely for everyone’s advantage.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “the power of the press.” It’s this power that turns little, insignificant events into big news!

Not only will the press print something they consider newsworthy, they will also print anything that is popular, controversial or sometimes just “new.” In a nutshell, press coverage is one of the most powerful marketing tools available to you to help promote your product, service, or opportunity. And best of all, it’s absolutely FREE!

News coverage can add immediate credibility to your business and your product or service. The press is still respected and trusted by most people. Most people still take what they read in the papers as gospel. The same is true for radio and television.

The bottom line is…

Press releases can mean more business and huge profits for you!

With just one well-written press release, you can have your article published in a popular magazine or your local newspaper and expose your product information and/or your website to hundreds, even thousands of interested readers.

The visibility and exposure that your business may receive can not be measured. You see, sometimes a single press release can generate more articles in other publications; It could also get you an interview on a radio station or a tv program. You could even end up on the 10 O’clock News!

No one can really tell how little or how far your press release will expose your business. The only way to find out is to get those press releases out there! And get them out there NOW before your competition beats you to it.

How Do You Get Free Press Coverage?

With the exception of “real news,” which can be fairly depressing at times, most stories and articles that appear in the press are the result of individuals or companies contacting the press. This may come as a surprise to you, but most of what appears in the media is a result of either press releases or calls made by people to the press, radio or tv.

Most newspapers have space to fill. You can help them fill it. If you have a new product or service that is needed by the public, or if you have a website offering help or advice, you could very easily be the next person to be mentioned by the press.

However, you have to be a little different than what’s already out there. Uniqueness stirs up curiosity and interest. A new subject, or a new point of view, is usually newsworthy.

Another way to get published is to watch for what’s “hot” in the news. Right now, for example, the Year 2000 Problem is big. If you decide to offer FREE information on this or any other hot topic through one of your webpages, you could very easily increase traffic to your website. All you would need then is to create links from your “hot” page that leads to your other products offered on your site.

Also, if you can create a web page that can make people’s lives easier, more interesting, or more fulfilling, you can be in the news. (Just take a look at PC Magazine’s Top 100 websites and you’ll get lots of ideas.

Back to the “how-to” of press releases…

Here are some things to consider when writing a press release:

Use a powerful “action” headline to get immediate attention. By now you should know that your headline is the most powerful part of ANY advertising, or promotional piece.
Present your best information first. A reader, especially the editor of the paper/magazine, doesn’t have time to waste. The reader should be able to instantly learn what the release is about. Mention the most interesting and useful features of your news first.

Do not “advertise.” That’s right. A press release is not exactly a display ad. Your release has to appear as an informational article, not an ad. Avoid wild, inflated claims. Be honest and provide useful details. Sell the benefits of your product/service without sounding too much like an ad. Explain why or how your product will make people’s lives easier. Provide a solution to a common problem.

Be an “expert.” You have to sound like you know what you’re talking about. If your article is too vague and scattered, it will probably not get published. A well-written article, on the other hand, will tell the editor that you know the product and that you are a reliable and authoriative information source.

Get to the point! Your release should not go more than 2 pages long. If it is longer, get rid of useless information and include only what’s important. This will ensure that you are providing all the details and none of the “fluff.” Try to include as much of the important details as you can and keep it within 2 pages.

No technical “jargon” please. Technical terms are not acceptable. If the reader cannot understand what the article is about, it won’t get read. Translate all the technical terms into layman’s terms.

It is usually a good idea to research the paper or magazine you’re planning to submit your release to. Study the back issues and previous articles and learn what is working with that particular publication. This will greatly increase the chances of your release getting published vs. that of your competitor’s.

The format…

The release should be typed or computer-generated, double-spaced on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
Your company name, address, and page number should appear at the top of each page. Write “For Immediate Release” along with the date toward the top of the first page.

Under this line, type “Contact:” then your name and phone number (or whoever will be handling the promotional aspects of this project.)

The headline will appear next, followed by the contents of the release.

Be sure to check, and re-check the article for spelling and grammatical errors. Don’t rely on your word processing software to do this for you. It’s also a good idea to have a second person proofread the release.

Address the release to the right person. Call the magazine or newspaper to find out who handles the press releases and address it to that person. Include the person’s correct title.

Regression Work involves bringing to conscious awareness those events from our past which, left unresolved, are impacting negatively on our present-day affairs. Unresolved issues can stem from situations in childhood, birth, prenatal states, “past lives” or “between lives”. The regression part refers to the person’s experience of “going back” to an important event in his/her past where she/he experiences the event as though it were occurring now. All the physical and emotional processes can be brought to sensate awareness and thoughts can be remembered. In this state a person gets a “second chance” to fully experience and process an event from his/her past which, for various reasons, she/he did not do originally.

It is usually fairly easy for a person to access a past event, it is often quite difficult to allow oneself to feel and express the various emotions which were originally felt and suppressed because to feel the feelings without adequate process was too painful. Unfortunately, processing events with loaded emotions is seldom done adequately. And yet, even now, unless this is done, healing will only become a partial achievement without a complete resolution of the issues involvedwith continued negative impact consciously and unconsciously.

The benefits of Regression Work are multifaceted, however many people report, life in general becomes more enjoyable. They report their level of self-esteem is enhanced and they become more aware of how they create their own reality. Thus, they become more self-empowered. As they come to know and accept who they truly are, their interaction with the world around them becomes realhere and now. Creativity and love becomes more prominent.

There are no limitations to the kind of benefits that come from regression work -physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Some examples are: resolution of relationship difficulties, as well as elimination of nightmares, phobias, obsessions, compulsive or addictive behaviors, chronic physical conditions, memory problems and psychosomatic disorders.

Regression Work can be facilitated using hypnosis or whatever technique helps you achieve an altered state of consciousness, a sort of mild trance state (an alpha state) in which your attention is focused deeply inward in conjunction with a heightened awareness of both inner and outer goings-on. You will be aware of the regressionist’s voice and other noises, and feel the temperature of the air in the room, while at the same time be deeply involved in visualizing and feeling the events of a past experience. It is similar to the state achieved when studying intensely for an exam or when watching an engrossing movie. There is a part of the person that knows what is transpiring in the here and now reality, so you are always in control of yourself. As a Regression facilitator, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

People frequently want to know how long regression work will take to resolve the known or unknown issues. It depends on many factors, specifically:

• the reason(s) why you want to do Regression Work.
• how willing you are to face your unresolved issues

• the complexity of those issues
• previous experience at doing personal work
• how quickly you can take responsibility for your work
• the competence of your therapist

However, if you want to do a regression because you are curious about the experience of the regression process, it only takes one session to satisfy that curiosityalbeit of little value. If you have done some personal work and have a few, specific issues you want to clear, it may take several sessions. But if you are depressed, don’t know who you are, don’t know what you want out of this life, have a lot of fear, anger or neurotic habits; or perhaps you have tried other ways of “coping” and it don’t work very well for youthen many more sessions will be needed. After things are in progress, you will be able to do a lot of it on your own.

Ultimately it becomes a life process where old blocks have been cleared; but the tools remain at your disposal to process completely any difficult experiences as they arise, so that there will be no need to work on them at some later time.

The most essential qualification a regressionist needs is to have undergone a substantial amount of personal regression workincluding deep, emotional release work. This ensures that she/he knows the ins and outs of the inner dynamics you’ll be experiencing. Most importantly, she/he will have dealt with enough of his/her own emotional baggage that she/he won’t be working it out on you. Without this criteria, she/he might unconsciously sabotage your exploration into an area involving his/her (the regressionist’s) own unresolved issues in order to avoid feeling it him/herself.

Equally important is accreditation such as degrees with a certification as a Regression Facilitator. While they indicate a minimum standard of acquired knowledge, one cannot rely solely upon them as proof of competence. Conversely, lack of such credentials is not necessarily an indication of incompetence. For example, I know a Regression Facilitator, who is a psychiatrist and certificates who lacks the inclination and skills to fully explore the issues at hand. This severely limits her ability to deliver effective work. Alternatively, I know facilitators who have fewer credentials and they do outstanding regression work.
