Make every day a mother’s day!
The word mother and mothers day are simple, yet powerful little words that you hear all the time especially so around the time of mothers day when everyone seem to be scrambling for ideas to say thank you, you are surely loved and you are appreciated all over again.
But if you would just take time out, you would realize that useful hints were probably being dropped all alone and throughout the year. In fact, with that special day being only a few weeks away, some of your thoughts at this time can range anywhere from what are you going to do for your mother, spouse or other loved one to should it be a product gift or something more personal. If it is the product route, how can it be made more personalized? If it is the gift of time, how can it be made more personal?
Mothers Day for some will be welcomed with feelings of excitement while for others it may be a day of mixed feelings especially so if the mother you will honor has lost a child to tragedy. So that is why whenever you wish to honor someone in your own little way, you should consider where that person may be in their life and then the event. Many people say that it’s the thought that counts and yes that’s a very good point but so is too know a person and mother’s day is no exception.
To give you some examples, consider a single mother who’s been struggling to raise her children and doing it all alone in every sense of the word, what would make her day on mother’s day? What about a seventy-two year old mother who has raised her children but suddenly took on the new responsibilities of raising her grand children, what would she possibly want or deserve?
Sure a bouquet of flowers or some other last minute gift would be nice and probably get you off the hook but what would that mother really want to do for that special day? Would she want to spend her day filled with family and special friends or have a day of being responsibility free? If you were in that person’s shoes, which would you hope that someone would honor you with for mother’s day?
You see mothers day or any other day can be made more personal when you put some careful thought into your gift idea. What else would that mother enjoy? What has she wanted to do for a long time? What has she not gotten to experience in her lifetime? How can you really show her she is appreciated?
Even a gift that is accompanied with a carefully written letter or note with meaning can put a smile on a mother’s face! Yes, I know this will not work for all moms but that’s why in the article it says that YOU need to really know that person. So please just remember it really is the thought that counts especially when you did take some time out to put some thought into your mother’s day gift.
Oh, one last thing, I invite you to help every day become a Mother’s Day. By the way moms, it is ok to drop hints about how you would like to spend your special day and with hope, your spouse, partner, or other loved one will graciously honor your small request. After all, mother’s day on the calendar only comes once a year.

It isn’t any surprise to my husband or friends that I love shoes. I am becoming better at limiting my purchases and sometimes, I even am able to clear some out of my closet. It hasn’t been quite as difficult lately, in some respects, because I am unable to wear the very high heels since my auto accident and back injury. But it is still difficult to admit I am not able to wear my youthful shoes anymore. Jeffrey Campbell shoes are great; the Peep Toe Pump is too cute; it reminds me of the old 40’s movies, and I love the retro look. Best of all, I fell in love with the Artist Rubber Rain Boots; I had to get those, and can’t wait for the rains to start! Anyone can shop. That’s easier. Not everyone can get the best deal for the best product available. That’s called being a smart shopper. That is why you should shop for Jeffrey Campbell shoes. Be smart when looking for an item like a video camera, sunglasses or a brand name purse. This is where being smart comes into play. Look at consumer reviews and see what other people are saying about these products. See if there are any sales that are going on. Check and see how the product is made that you are looking for. Getting the knowledge you need will help in getting the quality of product you are looking for.

There are many vices I love in this world, but gambling and drinking are chief among them. So there are few places in the world I like being than Las Vegas.
With dozens of places to play poker, and free booze flowing at each table, it is a place where a person can spend many happy hours idling the time away.
I had occasion to be in Vegas recently, and it was just as good as I remembered. I walked the strip, ate and drank heartily, and most importantly won several hundred dollar playing poker.
There is no better feeling in the world, in my opinion, than sitting at a poker table in a casino and seeing the dealer shove a huge pile of chips across the felt in your direction. Whether you’ve just hit a huge hand, or made an incredible bluff, piling up those chips in front of you is fantastic.
And in Vegas, being the international tourist destination that it is, the odds are you are sitting at a table with folks from around the world. All of them playing, joking, having a good time, united by a common love of poker and decadence.
I only stayed in Vegas for a few days, but soaked up all the fun and can’t wait to go back. If you’re a poker player, it is a must-see and a place to play against some of the best players in the world.

Do you feel safe in your life? Or are you tossed about by the events and experiences that just happen to come your way? You do have the ability to control your experience of life to a far greater degree that you currently realize.
It was a warm and lovely Sunday afternoon, nearly dusk actually. I took my kayak out for a stroll around the canals to catch that last magical hour of daylight.
The first part of my journey requires a bit of effort to paddle against the current in the wide tidal river that connects my canal system to another nearby one. For no more than ten minutes I have to paddle vigorously. After that I get a rest as I take it easy and cruise down this lazy stretch of canal that takes me around Paradise Island.
On this particular occasion I was hot from my big push across the river and really in the mood to kick back and go with the flow. So I lifted my feet and legs up out of the kayak and rested them on the top of the covered section.
Lounging in this kayak in this way is not the most stable position to be in, but it is comfortable.
I paddled slowly along this resort-laden stretch of suburbia and enjoyed the sights and the sounds. The sounds were particularly rich this time. Not only where the birds singing but the sounds of laughter and people on vacation filled the air.
Then all of a sudden, from my left came the hooting and hollering of a teenage boy on the warpath! It was a bit of a shock and caught my attention. Then came the sound of a metal gate squeaking and slamming closed.
The remaining schoolies in the spa were now chanting, “Go… Go… GO!!!” I knew this Australian youth was after me. I was his prey and he had the look of determination in his eyes. Based on his physique I quickly surmised that he had a very good chance of succeeding in overturning and capsizing me.
What would you have done in this situation? Would you have tried to get away? Would you have attacked him with your paddle?
I may have been able to get away, but the way I was lounging in my kayak was not conducive to a quick get-away. And I may have flipped myself over if I had tried due to the unstable distribution of my weight in the kayak.
Not only did my options seem limited but I decided I would rather shift this with my energy. I thought, “I am *NOT* a vibrational match to being shoved out of my kayak by some young lad out for a bit of fun and mischief!”
So I got a grip on my mind and calmed my racing heart. As this young man rapidly approached my kayak I laughed deep and loud and said to him, “Great idea! You gave me a bit of a fright there for a moment. Please don’t dump me out, I have my mobile phone in here.”
The spunky lad was huffing and puffing but he had heard me. He began looking into my kayak and so I produced my dry bag, which contained my mobile phone. It was safe even if I was dumped, but he did not know that.
Meanwhile his friends were making a lot of noise pushing him to do the dirty deed. This lad lifted my phone into the air and yelled out, “He has valuables!” There were people on both sides of the canal observing this exchange of energy and waiting for him to dump me.
We talked for a little bit, shook hands and then with one mighty push he sent me on my way.
I reveled in the feeling of exhilaration! I was excited and happy to be alive. I had not been in real danger, but it was thrilling just the same. My heart was pounding and I was grateful to have had such an encounter with this young being.
I thought about how different it could have turned out. I marveled at how powerful our energy can be. I knew without a doubt that I had commanded that situation by being firm and clear in my intention.
When I got home and shared this story with my new housemates, a couple of Australian women, they were shocked to find out that the boy did not turn me over. Knowing Aussie lads the way they do, they figured it was a sure thing.
You see, when you take control of your mind and your vibration you take control of your entire life! You become safe because you will feel when you are in danger. You will know what actions to take and when to take them.
There have been times when I ignored messages that could have saved me trouble, but there have *NOT* been times (in the last few years) when I missed the messages altogether.
Most of the time I either miss trouble without a (physical) clue it was ever there, or watch it move past me while being grateful for having such a clear connection to my guidance system.
You must know that it has not always been this way for me. I used to have experiences that were quite painful and difficult and no clue as to how they came about.
These are skills that anyone can learn… even you! I teach these skills in the “Facts of Life” ecourse. You can visit http://gr8Wisdom.com to find out how to purchase this invaluable ecourse.

How long did it take you to realize the benefits of removing a splinter right away from your finger? As a child, removing that splinter seemed like an awful thing to do, but experience FINALLY taught us that if we leave it alone, it will only get in
How long did it take you to realize the benefits of removing a splinter right away from your finger? As a child, removing that splinter seemed like an awful thing to do, but experience FINALLY taught us that if we leave it alone, it will only get infected, get worse, and be a whole lot harder to deal with.
But have you really learned this lesson yet?
Allowing - even courting - delay in your life is a huge road block between you and a great life. When you respond to a problem, situation, request, task, etc. without delay, you minimize the action - and the pain — involved. .
Think again about that splinter. Consider it as a metaphor to any problem or situation that you need to deal with, that needs change. At first the ’splinter’ catches your attention, with just an Ouch. But if you ignore it, it will get sore. If you continue to ignore it, it will swell and be quite painful. If you continue to ignore it, or just put a band-aid on it instead of getting to the source (the splinter), it may become so infected that it could actually threaten your health. All that from a tiny splinter, or tiny problem that you chose to delay taking care of.
Need for ACTION, shows up like this: • Inkling, Hint, or OUCH (a.k.a. the splinter) - Example, the car insurance bill due every 6 months. A few months ahead you begin to think “I oughta put back some money to pay that insurance that’s going to be due in December.” • Message: Bill arrives; you don’t have the money to pay; you ignore the bill • Problem: Late due notice arrives, includes extra for late fees; it’s Christmas time, and you just don’t have any extra right now; you ignore the bill (that splinter is swollen and quite painful right now) • Crisis: Your insurance is cancelled, and you’ll have to put out a lot more to get a new insurance company to take you.
The epitome of delay in our society is credit card debt. If you look at credit cards realistically, when you charge something you are only delaying when and how much extra you’ll pay for purchasing it. So you end up paying for a dinner you enjoyed months ago, PLUS the added interest.
When you allow delay to CONTROL your life, everybody and everything else in charge of your life. You’re not running your life, the insurance company or the credit card company or your mother in law or the kids ARE.
When you delay, YOU - yes, YOU — create a crisis situation, and you end up without a choice. No Choice on how to spend that money - it MUST be used to pay the credit card. No Choice on how to spend your time –it MUST be used to go see your mother-in-law.
Your actions, your thoughts, your behavior, your money, your energy will be controlled by an external deadline.
Instead, when a problem is approached from an “eliminate delay” standpoint, sometimes only a small step is necessary to solve the problem - or to AVOID the problem altogether. An early response will usually allow time for making an informed decision based on CHOICE, instead of ‘haveto’.
Each one of these is harder and harder to deal with. Each one of these costs you more energy, time, money, and even a part of your spirit.
When you begin to Eliminate Delay from your life, you are able to respond to hints or inklings (such as a bill that WILL be due in the future), in a way that works FOR you, instead of having to respond in a way that’s dictated by others (i.e. the insurance company example).
Become the type of person who responds to problems and situations and other’s requests (when appropriate) immediately. You’ll be able to respond calmly and efficiently, because you have the LUXURY of choice and reserves of time, energy, support, money. ————————————- This is an excerpt from the Ebook, “10 Things Between You and a Great Life!” by Professional Life Coach Kathy Gates. One of the top-rated sitcoms of the 1990s decade, Frasier follows the life and times of radio psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane. Recently divorced, Frasier moves back to his hometown of Seattle where he attempts to rekindle relationships with both his father and brother. Frasier’s father, Martin Crane (John Mahoney) was recently shot in the line of duty and forced into retirement when the wound left him with a limp. Frasier and his brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce) agree to have Marty move in with Frasier. Soon thereafter, they hire Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves) as the housekeeper and Martin’s physical therapist. Frasier’s colleague Roz Doyle makes recurring appearances throughout the series as well. One of the best written sitcoms of any era, Frasier is one of the few series in television history with hundreds of episodes which all hilarious…

But constant near-miss run-ins between Frasier’s family and the woman lead them to question whether Frasier is involved in a relationship at all. Exasperated, he spills the beans - an action with profoundly negative consequences… Other notable episodes from Season 5 include “My Fair Frasier” in which Frasier finds himself as “the woman” in a relationship with a hard-nosed defense attorney, and “The Ski Lodge” in which the Crane family, Daphne, and her friend take a weekend trip to a ski lodge where romantic misunderstandings abound…

The English language is confusing enough, without having terms that can mean more than one thing or are interchangeable. The word cartoon is one of those terms that has people, especially researchers, scratching their heads wondering why they can’t find what they are looking for.
Depending on when you grew up, the term cartoon may mean something completely different to you than it does to a kid who grew up watching Bugs Bunny on Saturday mornings. For older folks, the term cartoon strikes up images of Lil’ Abner comic strips. For some people, it is both.
The fact of the matter is, technically, if you look up the definition of a cartoon, it really applies to both mediums. If you go by the original historic meaning of the word cartoon it refers to a full size drawing made on paper as a study for a further artwork. In other words, cartoons really weren’t finished pieces of work, much like an architects drawings for a building. the drawings are just preliminary. The buildings are the finished work. Early cartoons were usually just outlines of a subject. The details were then filled in at a later date.
In more modern times the definition of a cartoon became an illustration for a humorous intent. However, because of the advances in print and motion technology these illustrations no longer remained motionless pieces of paper. With the breakthroughs of movies like “Steamboat Willie”, suddenly a cartoon took on a whole new meaning. And with that whole new meaning began the confusion. You had your cartoons that continued to remain in stationary print, like your Sunday comic strips, and then you had your cartoons that took on the properties of motion, like your Saturday morning half hour shows. Suddenly, the term cartoon was just too confusing to use for both mediums. Something had to be done.
In order to remove the confusion, a new term was developed. Cartoons that were seen in print media were no longer referred to as cartoons. They became known as comic strips. These are usually a short series of illustrations to tell a story or part of one, like the daily serial strips such as Brenda Starr. The motion variety of cartoon retained its original terminology. However, it may be interesting to note that those who work on stationary print media are not referred to as comic strip artists. They are still called cartoonists. Those who make cartoons are now referred to as animators. Some would say that in trying to clear up the confusion, in some ways we’ve only made things worse.
Then of course there is the ongoing battle between cartoonists and animators themselves. Those who work at motion animation take offense at being called cartoonists. Most feel it demeans the work that they do. Cartoonists, those who actually work on cartoons (the original kind) have no problem with either label and certainly wouldn’t mind if you were to refer to them as an animator, as that tag seems to have more prestige in our modern times.
Regardless of what has or will be done to draw a distinction between comic strips and animation (notice cartoon itself is now gone) there will always be those who think of a cartoon as Bugs Bunny on a Saturday morning and those who think of it as Lil’ Abner in a Sunday paper.
There is no doubt that this battle will go on for all eternity.
