It’s difficult to watch the new family film “Hoot” without comparing it to “Holes.” Besides the obvious similarity in names, both were based on popular children’s books, revolve around sweet-faced boys in their mid-teens who are bullied, present bumbling redneck adults in authority positions, and include valuable treasures hidden inside holes in the ground. Both films also feature actor Tim Blake Nelson in virtually identical supporting roles.
Also like “Holes,” the New Line Cinema film “Hoot,” directed by Wil Shriner and based on the Newbery-Award-winning novel by Carl Hiaassen, is a thoroughly enjoyable romp for children and a mildly entertaining experience for the adults who accompany them to the theater. While some children might be surprised at plot developments, few adults will be blindsided as events unfold.
Filmed in Florida during Hurricane Katrina (and some less severe weather) during the summer of 2005, the environmentally themed movie captures the beauty of imaginary Coconut Cove. Three teenagers (Logan Lerman, Brie Larson, and Cody Linley) use vandalism, fear tactics, pranks, and even assault to help save a population of endangered owls escape certain death from the construction of a new pancake house.
Caring about the environment links the three dissimilar teens, and helps the younger audience members differentiate between the good characters and the bad. Just to set the record straight, good characters try to save the cute little owls while bad characters try to save the land development deal. It’s agreed among the entire town, however, that everyone (good and bad) likes pancakes.
Family film staples, including greedy land developers, clumsy cops, clueless parents, and ignorant bullies populate this small coastal town. Luke Wilson takes a break from date films to star as an inept policeman who longs to be a detective. Jimmy Buffett provided five new songs for the soundtrack and co-produced the film; in addition, he plays a compassionate teacher at the middle school who adds a breath of fresh ocean air to some of the stale stereotypes.
“Hoot” is an agreeable family film that you can all watch together, although afterwards you might want to tell your children that in real life spray paint and snakes might actually create more problems than they solve. One thing you won’t have to do when this PG movie is over is blushingly explain off-color language. This owl is “screechy” clean.

Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) media format basically stores data with the finest visual and audio qualities. You would not want to purchase your favorite movies at skyrocketing prices and t find out they have been scratched or some data has been lost. DVDs are becoming less expensive, however you cannot take them granted, they can be destroyed. That’s why it’s good to know there is a method of copying. However, no matter how inexpensive they can be, you still cannot take for granted the loss that will overcome you once they are ruined. Good thing there is a method of producing a “safety copy”. DVDs called “ripping.”
It is essential that your computer support the software that will tolerate DVD ripping. To copy a DVD, insert the DVD you want to copy into the drive. Next, start verifying which files and folders you wish to copy. Upon inserting the DVD into the hard drive, a list of the files and folders will appear. It is important to note that the movie is usually placed in the video TS folder. This folder contains other files as well such as the .IFO file and the .VOB file. It is the .VOB file that contains the film itself and the .IFO file houses the directions as to when to load additional files.
Your computer system ought to have sufficient memory, storage space and reliable processing speed before you can access DVD ripping. The device that you will use in ripping– a DVD –must be available. You can choose either a DVD burner or a CD burner. Utilizing a DVD burner proves more effective when it comes to disc space and resolution.
DVD ripping has always been a recognized safe way of recopying. One important reminder though, you can always work on DVD ripping but be sure that you do not transcend its legitimacy.
DVD Ripper provides detailed information on DVD Ripper, Free DVD Ripper, Audio DVD Ripper Downloads, Super DVD Ripper and more. DVD Ripper is affiliated with DVD Player Software.

Did you know that every year thousands of UK properties are sold at significantly below market value? The majority of these properties are released through property auctions where regular savings of between 10% to 40% are available to market value. Even so, property auctions continue to be used only by the elite and for the astute buyer/investor this generates a fantastic opportunity to secure a dream home/good investment at bargain basement prices.
For example, at a recent auction a studio flat was sold in London for a mere £9,000. In another, a 2 bed flat right on the south coast with a market value of upto £100,000 sold for just £14,000 at auction. And those are just a couple of examples of the bargains that people do find at property auctions. However it’s also important to know the potential issues and problems when dealing with auctions and to understand exactly where the best deals are available. If you’re interested in getting into the world of property auctions the below tips & tricks of the trade should be very helpful.
TYPES OF PROPERTIES FOUND AT AUCTIONS
UK Property Auctions Home Contact
The following is a guide to help anyone unlock the value available through UK Property Auctions. Thousands of homes are available at any given time with property auctions, most of which are sold at prices far below market value. However it’s important to know the potential issues and problems when dealing with auctions and to understand where the biggest bargains are available. Details of thousands of cheap, repossessed & auction properties are also available at Property Auction Bargains.
Its perfectly reasonable to expect to pay between 15% to 40% less for a property at auction than you would for the same property through an estate agent. For example, at a recent auction a studio flat was sold in London for a mere £9,000. In another, a 2 bed flat right on the south coast with a market value of upto £100,000 sold for just £14,000 at auction. And those are just a couple of examples of the many bargains that people find at property auctions each and every week.
TYPES OF PROPERTIES FOUND AT AUCTIONS
Repossessions - Sadly for the previous owners, repossessions can often be picked up at bargain prices through auctions.
Investment properties - Properties, which are valued due to the return on investment that they provide. Includes everything from individual office/shop investments to blocks of flats.
Rundown properties - Auctions are great places to pickup properties that are unsaleable in their current state. The attraction here is if you can get such a property in a good location at a cheap price it’s perfectly possible to refurbish and resell on at handsome profits. Indeed there are individuals and organisations that make their living doing this. Unsaleable properties come under the following categories:
Derelict or in derelict areas.
Subject to severe disrepair.
Subject to local authority notices.
Subject to closing orders.
Offered with ambiguous legal titles.
Sold without access.
Sold with major fencing, paving, drainage or other similar responsibilities.
Sold subject to covenants or restrictions, which prevent normal use.
Exceptional properties - Include ones that have historical meaning and plots which ‘get in the way’ of major development projects.
TYPES OF AUCTION
Large composite - Tend to have over 100 lots. Expect well over 300 people to attend and the venue to be held in a large hotel or conference centre. Large composite auctions are likely to be run by a single auction house. The type of property may be restricted to just one (e.g. vacant possession houses, factories, warehouses etc) or may be a mixture of different types.
Medium composite - Have between 5 to 100 lots and will typically attract between 200 to 500 people, most likely in a hotel or conference centre. It’s similar to a large composite, only on a smaller scale.
Small composite - Offer between 2 to 5 lots and will attract upto 5 bidders. The likely venue is likely to be somewhere like a pub, restaurant, church or small hotel. Small auctions will generally follow a theme - for example the properties involved may have been part of a bigger group (such as a portfolio of properties owned by one company) who believe the best returns will be obtained by offering the properties for sale individually.
Single lot - usually for a property that is in great demand.
IDENTIFYING AUCTIONS
Auctions aren’t as easy to find as you might expect. Traditionally auctioneers get more than enough interest from in-the-know regulars so they don’t need to spend much money on costly advertising to the public. Here’s where the list of auction houses that comes with this guide becomes invaluable. There are details on each auction house including which area the auction house covers. Go through the list and identify ones, which cover the areas you are interested in. Then:
Phone the auction house and ask them when their next auction is likely to be held. Ask them to put you on a mailing list, which details forthcoming auctions. Some may charge a small fee for this, others offer the service for free.
Prepare a list of questions for each auction house you contact. These should include:
Do you have a mailing list?
How long do you keep people on your mailing lists and can you let me know if I am about to be removed?
What type of properties do you auction?
It may also be worth subscribing to certain pedigree property magazines. These include Property Auction News, Under The Hammer and Property Week. Local newsagents usually carry these.
THE INFORMATION AN AUCTIONEER WILL PROVIDE
Obviously they will provide the details of the properties going under the hammer at their auctions. These tend to be more detailed than the snippets given by estate agents (there are laws such as the Property Misdescriptions Act 1991 which make it illegal for auctioneers to give false information about a property). On the whole, for any given lot they will provide:
Location
Construction details
Tenure (e.g. freehold)
Accommodation details (e.g. 3 bedrooms etc)
Notes (e.g. refurbishment required)
Viewing details
Solicitor details
Auctioneers usually publish a catalogue with the lot details - this is a book detailing the various properties available at auction. These will usually be available a month or less prior to the auction date.
IDENTIFYING REPOSSESSIONS
Some banks/building societies can be sheepish about revealing that they are selling repossessed properties so you need to be alert in the auction for clues. Auction adverts may reveal that a bank may be the seller of a number of properties, or the auction catalogue may state a phrase such as ‘on instruction of a liquidator’ or something similar - this should tell you that the property being sold is a repossession. If you are unsure, ask the auctioneer directly if the lot being offered is a repossession.
FINDING PROPERTY AUCTIONS NEAR YOU
There are several thousands of properties available for auction at any given time all over the UK. It’s important to understand how auctions work before purchasing a property from one. To find out where you can get hold of a list of UK property auction venues and websites of auction properties for sale take a look at my resource box below. I wish you every success in finding your dream bargain home at auction

The success of a business, as it is said, is based on the attitude of every individual handling it. In a network marketing business one of the problems that you will encounter is the negative thoughts that are inside of you. These thoughts can be a burden for you to achieve your goal. Having a business requires hard work and dedication. And casting off the negatives inside you is one of the hard things to do.
There are some things that you should consider in casting off the negative thought that you have. One is to reject fear. As long as you have the fear in your heart, you can never move on in reaching your goal. As Zig Ziglar said, “Fear is a dark room where negatives are developed.” These fears can be rejected by the help of your group that can provide wise counsel to you and teach how to fight and reject that fear that is inside you. But ultimately, you should take responsibility and focus your thoughts on the positive side of life.
Another thing that you should consider is to root out doubts. Everyone has their own doubts but what matters here is how you can handle them. In this situation, you should believe in your own capacity to win. Believe that you can do it. You should develop a feeling not to doubt instead of focusing on the most difficult things in your life. If you focus on these things, you can feel the doubt in your self and ask yourself if you can fight it. In this way you doubt your capabilities.
Whenever you are feeling doubt about something, articulate in your mind the reasons why you can’t do it, then write down plausible reasons why you think you can do it. The last thing that you should remember to cast off the negatives in your mind, is to realize your possibilities. There is a story of a champion in archery. He had never been defeated in this competition, but one accident caused him to lose his right arm.
He joined again in the competition and became a second placer using his left hand. In this simple story, you can see that he chose not to imprison himself in his limitations but rather to open other sides of possibilities. In managing a network marketing business you should see possibilities in every angle. Don’t limit yourself only to what you think you can do. Explore your boundaries and discover your own potential to succeed.

Abbott and Costello were known as comics. Their movies were supposed to be nothing more than vehicles for their comedy routines. The plots were thin, or non existent. It didn’t matter. They were funny enough that they could get away with just throwing a bunch of routines together and call it a movie. But something very strange happened with the making of “The Time Of Their Lives” from 1946. The film was directed by Charles Barton and written by Val Burton and Walter DeLeon. The thing about the film that was so strange was that it wasn’t really all that funny. It was just a very good movie. And by the time it was over, there wasn’t a dry eye in the theater. What the heck happened?
What happened was that Abbott and Costello made what was arguably their best movie ever. Was it a fluke? Did it just happen? Did they look for better material? Did better material just land in their laps? Nobody will ever know the answers to these questions, but one thing is for certain. A better Abbott and Costello film you will never see.
The story is fairly simple. A tinker (Costello) is given a letter from General George Washington during the American Revolution that he must deliver. Something, however, goes terribly wrong (thanks to Abbott) and the tinker and his female companion, played by Marjorie Reynolds, are shot as traitors. A curse is then put on them to be confined to Danbury acres until the crack of doom or until their innocence could be proven.
Move ahead a couple of hundred years. The tinker, who’s name was Horatio Prim and the poor girl, who’s name was Melody Allen, were still stuck on Danbury acres, still searching for proof of their innocence. At this point, they had just about given up. But then they overhear one of Abbott’s ancestors, Dr. Ralph Greenway, discussing the legend of the traitors. Ultimately this leads them to believe that the proof, the letter from George Washington, was somewhere on the grounds. This leads to the search.
The location of the letter is finally revealed through a séance where the ghost of Melody’s boyfriend, Tom Danbury, gives them clues to where the letter was hidden. Of course, it’s not that easy as it turns out that the letter is in a clock that was donated to a museum. Thus begins the mad dash to retrieve the clock and prove their innocence.
After the doctor steals the clock, since it was revealed that his ancestor set up the tinker, a mad chase begins involving the police. The police may have won this chase but thanks to Prim’s quick thinking and the fact that he was a ghost and invisible, he is able to keep them busy long enough for Greenway and the others to open the clock and retrieve the letter. Once it was read, their innocence was proven and their souls were set free.
Yeah, not your typical Abbott and Costello movie.

Some believe that the International Space Station solved the issues of the race for space and the types of military ramp ups we saw with the cold war. And indeed the cooperative nature of such programs between the Russian Cosmonauts and the American Astronauts has yielded a new level of peace. But we see a new race for space is brewing with China and we have lots of competition with the European Union for Mars unmanned aerial vehicle and robotic exploration.
We are also seeing some commercial applications and free market competition for the commercialization of space. Most notable Burt Rutan’s Mojave Desert Group and SpaceShip One with some 38,000 deposits taken from would be space tourists who will be paying an average of some $200,000.00 each to go into space and land safely back on Earth’s terra firma.
Will China put a man on the moon soon? Yes, but as NASA scientists say not by this June. But let’s not count China out, as even the United States roadmap for Space is a decade away and is nothing less than a slow boat to China. Some are rather excited about the prospects of putting a colony on the moon, yet we should have done that in late seventies or early eighties, as now we are looking rather silly saying it will take 25 years for a manned mission to Mars and 15-20 years to establish a lunar colony. For such a Super Power like the United States, that is a dismal and pathetic if not totally modest goal.
Surely we can do better than that. However with this said expect greater advances in BioTech, Nanotech, robotics, new materials and propulsion in 2006, as part of the United States Roadmap to Space, which is a very good thing indeed. More on this in 2006.

This is a list of countries with proven reachable oil reserves in billions of barrels, and is a rough estimate based on the ability to recover the oil by current technological and economical means.
Saudi Arabia - 262
Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of petroleum in the world, and plays a leading role in OPEC, which stands for The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries; an international organization made up of eleven oil producing nations.
Canada - 180
Canada’s Athabasca Oil Sands Project is what puts Canada on the map in this list. Current surface mining techniques and in-situ methods to extract bitumen from the oil sands make for an overwhelmingly positive future for Canada’s oil industry.
Iran - 126
Iran’s economy relies heavily on oil export revenues, and as oil prices rise, Iran’s economy improves. Iran is in the process of diversifying by investing some of it’s oil reserves into other areas, such as petrochemicals; and is in the process of creating more favorable climates for foreign investment.
Iraq - 115
According to oil industry experts, new exploration may raise Iraq’s reserves up to 300 billion barrels. This has created global foreign interest to re-establish within the country. The US, UK, France, China, Russia, and Japan all vie for major concessions complicated by unrest in the post-Saddam Hussein era.
Kuwait - 102
Though the loss has been estimated at 2% of total oil reserves, Kuwait has recovered fully from the invasion of Iraq. The KPC, or Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, has grown to become one of the ten largest oil companies in the world.
U.A.E. - 98
At one time an underdeveloped region, by 1985 the UAE had the highest per capita income in the world. The largest areas of petroleum production occur in two of the seven constituent parts of the UAE; these being Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi qualifies as a oil state in the same sense as Kuwait.
Venezuela - 77
Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter in the world, and a founding member of OPEC. Oil output has been hampered at times due to protest and controversy, but the country remains an active contributor to the world supply of oil.
Russia - 60
Russia has the world’s largest natural gas reserves, the second largest coal reserves, and the eighth largest oil reserves. The country is the world’s largest exporter of natural gas and the second largest oil exporter. Reorganization of the Russian Energy Sector has shown improvements in the industry over the last few years.
Libya - 39
Though sanctions against Libya had been removed by United States President Bush and also by The United Nations, some Libyan authorities caution foreign optimism about prospects in the country’s socialist driven economy. Nonetheless, the removal of sanctions allows Libya to drive forward.
Nigeria - 35
Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa, and is a major oil supplier to both the United States and Western Europe. Proven oil reserves are expected to be expanded to 40 billion barrels by the year 2010.

Nominated for 52 Emmys since its 1990 premiere, including 11 for Outstanding Drama Series, Law & Order is one of the most popular television shows in modern day history. With an additional 4 Golden Globe nominations for Best TV Series (Drama), Law & Order is more than a TV show, it’s a lucrative franchise for host network NBC, spawning popular spin-offs Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001), and (the now cancelled) Law & Order: Trial By Jury (2005). Filmed on location in New York City, the show is the brainchild of creator Dick Wolf, a longtime writer for successful TV series such as Hill Street Blues and Miami Vice. With sixteen successful seasons already on the books, and more on the way, Law & Order remains one of the best drama series available on any network…
Law & Order centers around the New York City criminal justice system, where “the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups - the police who investigate crime, and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders”. The first half of each one-hour episode is dedicated to the initial revelation of a crime and the police investigation that subsequently takes place. This usually involves interviewing witnesses, following leads, testing evidence, and/or hammering out a confession. Once sufficient evidence has been gathered to charge a suspect, the remainder of the show revolves around the district attorney’s office and their attempts to prosecute the offenders. Oftentimes, the audience will be witness to unexpected plot twists, unorthodox media-driven cases, or last minute, Perry Mason-like confessions or brokered deals. Given its long TV run, the cast of Law & Order has frequently changed over the years - with only a handful of characters experiencing lengthy runs, characters such as Det. Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach), Lt. Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson), and EADA John “Jack” McCoy (Sam Waterston)…
The Law & Order (Season 2) DVD features a number of dramatic episodes including the season premiere “Confession” in which Det. Logan goes too far in interrogating the man suspected of Max Greevey’s murder. En route to obtaining a confession, Logan endangers the prosecution’s case… Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “Misconception” in which the mugging of a pregnant woman leads to murder charges when she loses the baby, and “Vengeance” in which the parents of a murder victim attempt to overturn the conviction of her killer so that he can face charges in another state where the death penalty is still enforced…

Andy Bloch has recently become one of the most regularly deep running professional in the world of online poker, though his presence has been large in the gambling community for quite some time. Originally part of the MIT gambling unit that got caught counting cards in the famous scandal made legend on the bestselling book ‘Bringing Down the House,’ Bloch has risen to poker fame simply by his sheer intelligence for numbers and the ability to bend them to his advantage.
Bloch is somewhat of an anomaly in the poker circuit in that he doesn’t seem to have a definitive style or approach to the game, other than one that continually vibrates between pressure and weird rhythm. Bloch is a master at picking a spot and making that spot look like gold whether it actually stays gold or not, using his power poker skills to knock opponents off of their hands when his own doesn’t pan out.
Couple that with an overall very likable and well-seeming young man, fit with the MIT legend looming and his clear wit for the game, and you’ve got one rough aggressor. His recent win in the 2007 HORSE tournament over the late Chip Reese was only one among many tournament successes that have since cemented him in true poker greatness.
