Why Ski in Val D’Isere in France

One of Europe’s most notable skiing areas, Val d’Isre sports 400 km of trails and is easily accessible from Geneva airport. The ski season begins during early November and ends in the start of May. The high altitude resort caters for all your needs. The town extends through the vale from La Daille as far as Le Fornet with the apres ski in the centre of Val d’Isere. This clustering of appealing homes contain smart boutiques many of which have arisen since the town was picked for the winter olympics.

Split into three different parts the town has lots of ski able slopes for all levels of skiers. Val d’Isere has a great historical snow record, the domain is enormously fashionable among pro skiers and motorway skiing intermediates, however you don’t need to be particularly advanced to enjoy what’s there. It is easy to why so many British are attracted to the village, with its varied nightlife and the range of amusement on offer, but the proximity of Tignes enables you to venture out to less frantic areas if it all gets a bit much.

Pros

A good night-life in the Alps. Everyone talks English. Comfortable approach to Val d’Isre and Tignes known collectively as the Espace Killy ski area. There is a lot of vehicles and whilst there are many buses during the day, devoted apres skiers should head to be within a short distance of the centre.

Cons

Pricy. Busy and very popular with English tourists, so not for people seeking a typical French ski town to relish a stress free holiday. Several ski lifts can shut in bad conditions. A few hard blue and green pistes.
